Jumping around with the Fandads at Sky Zone in Elmhurst

Last Friday, the Fandads were invited to check out Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park in Elmhurst. While we have seen videos of these types of facilities before, we never had have the chance to check one out and could not wait to go and jump around with the family.

The days leading to our visit my little girl and I were checking out the website to see what was in store for us.  While on their website we found ourselves watching their videos on YouTube and getting excited to try out the trampolines ourselves.
In the video we saw people jumping into foam pits in the Foam Zone, people jumping to great heights dunking a ball in the Sky Slam and a dodge ball game that was unlike anything that we have ever seen in the Ultimate Dodgeball area.
This video got us so pumped that we could not wait to experience it first hand.
Now we went on a Friday afternoon and you know what, it was not that busy.  The time we were there was perfect because it was like we had the entire place to ourselves.  We checked in at the front desk and got our pair of pink Sky Socks to jump around in.
The cool thing about the pink Sky Socks is that for every pair sold the proceeds go to Giuilana Rancic’s FABU-U-WISH foundation.  So if you go there in October buy a pair and support a good cause.

While we put our items away in one of the many lockers there we were given a breakdown of the rules and then we went to jump around.  One thing that I have to say was that the staff at Sky Zone was very friendly and attentive and that was a big plus for us.

We started our hour of fun in the open jump area.  It took my little girl a while to get used to jumping on the trampoline, but after a few minutes she was trying to copy the moves that my wife was doing.
My favorite part of night was jumping around in the Foam Zone.  I am by no part a great gymnast, I mean the first time I tried to jump into the foam pit I tripped on my feet and fell back on the trampoline, but that did not stop me from trying to do some tricks into the huge foam pit.

This area was so much fun that even my little guy got in on the action.  I think he had fun just walking into the pit and trying to crawl back out.  I don’t know how some people do it, but trying to do flips into this thing is not as easy as they make it look.
The last area we tried out or at least my little girl did was the dodgeball area.  There were only a few kids in that area and they were playing catch with the ball and not throwing them at each other. Even though she did not know the kids there, my little girl was having fun throwing the balls at them and diving to try to catch them.
One thing that we did not get to try while we were there was the Sky Slam.  I think we were having so much fun in the open jump area that our time just flew by.  Next time we go there, that is the first thing on my to-do list.
My family and I had a lot of fun at Sky Zone and we would like to thank them for giving us the opportunity to try out their location.  We had so much fun there that we can not wait to go again and bring our family members with us.
A few tips: make sure to dress comfortable, be prepared to sweat and stretch out a little beforehand. Trust me, your thighs will thank you for doing that.
