With spring coming up it can only mean one thing for parents everywhere: Spring Break. If you have been following the weather here in Chicago, you know that we go through about 3 seasons in one day.
Now picture this, your kids are ready to go out and enjoy the day when all of a sudden it starts raining. What do you do, hotshot? Luckily, our friends from Hasbro have provided us with some fun toys to play with on those rainy days.
Those rainy days can be a bit challenging because while one child wants to play a board game, the other child might want to watch a movie. So in those times, we need to find something that will satisfy both of them and that’s where Hasbro’s new line of toys come into the picture. Check out these new toys that will bring you some sunshine on those rainy days.
MR. POTATO HEAD TRANSFORMERS MIXABLE
Ages 2 and up
I love Transformers! I remember running home after school to watch the latest episodes with my friends and just being transported to Cybertron. My children have been indoctrinated in the world of Transformers by seeing some of the figures that I have.
What is cool about these mixable figures is that not only are they playing with Transformers figures, but they are also playing with another icon in the toy industry, Mr. Potato Head. These figures are perfect for my son because they are easy enough for him to put together and take apart, but they are also sturdy and can survive being thrown across the room a few times when they are “flying”.
I also like the fact that these figures have parts that can be combined with other figures in this series, hence the “Mixable” moniker. So imagine Bumblebee‘s head with Optimus Prime’s body. Imagine Grimlock with Bumblebee’s body. The combinations are endless.
MY LITTLE PONY EQUESTRIA GIRLS MINIS
Ages 5 and up
My Little Pony has been a staple in our house for years and my daughter was excited to get the Applejack Slumber Party Games Set. We have watched the movies and television shows and we love the positive messages of each episode. Plus, some of the songs are pretty catchy and I catch myself humming them every now and then.
The set my daughter received is one of five sets that all have the slumber party theme. This set comes with a board game that the ponies can play with and a pizza for when they get hungry. Mmmm, pizza! These sets give your child the feeling of having a sleepover with the ponies and it is cool how each of the sets vary.
The Game of Life: YO-KAI WATCH Edition
Ages 5 and up
We have all played the Game of Life before. Remember picking your car and driving around the gameboard and getting married and paying bills? Yeah, those were fun times, but this latest version of the game is great to play with my daughter.
Recently Yo-Kai Watch invaded our house and we have been having a lot of fun watching the shows and playing with the watches and medals. In this Game of Life version, you have to collect 3 Yo-Kai medals to win the game. Sounds easy right? Wrong!
