Yesterday was a big day for Star Wars fans as we all got to see the first trailer for STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE. The trailer gave us our first look at Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso and a peek into the attempt to steal the plans of the newly built Death Star.
This feels like a heist movie set in a galaxy far, far away. As a father of a young girl, I think it’s great to see another strong female character in the lead. I just hope that when the toys are announced and made available we will not have another #WheresRey debacle.
STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE comes out in theaters December 16, 2016.
While we have to wait until December for Rogue One, there are two great Disney movies coming out soon that are sure to please the entire family.
Coming out this month is Disney’s THE JUNGLE BOOK.
The Jungle Book is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub raised in the jungle by a family of wolves, who embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery when he’s forced to abandon the only home he’s ever known.
I loved watching the animated version of this movie when I was little and I’ve watched it a few times with my daughter. She knows the characters and the story, but watching this with live “animals” is going to be really cool.
To get you and your children ready for the movie we have some fun activity sheets to hold you off until the movie releases on April 15th.
Speaking of female leads, Ellen DeGeneres returns as Dory in Disney/Pixar’s FINDING DORY.
Disney Pixar’s “Finding Dory” reunites eveyone’s favorite forgetful blue tang, Dory, with her friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about her past. What can she remember? Who are her parents? And where did she learn to speak Whale?
Finding Nemo was recently discovered by my children and the character of Dory has become their favorite due to her forgetfulness and her commitment to help Marlin. She embodies what a good friend will do for their friends and is a great character for the ages.
While we have a few months before the release of Finding Dory, we have some fun activity sheets for your family to use while you wait.
