Dad jokes, we all know we love them and we better be prepared to hear some this coming Father’s Day. We here at Fandads have a few jokes up our sleeves, but first we wanted to share with you some ideas that we thought would make some great gifts for Father’s Day
Around Town
If you live in the Windy City like we do, there are a couple of cool places to take dad to this year.
IFly is a great way to experience skydiving without the fear of your parachute not opening. We have had the pleasure of trying out the Rosemont and Lincoln Park locations and the staff there was very friendly and made sure you had a great time in the wind tunnel. Check out their website to find a location near you and have a fantastic experience with your dad.
The LEGO Americana Roadshow is a traveling show that showcases some well known landmarks as well as some fun creations for the entire family to see. If the father in your life is a history or architecture buff or just likes looking at cool stuff, this is the place to go. The tour is currently at Northbrook Court from June 18th until July 4. Give it a visit and see how many Star Wars mini figures you can spot hiding in the displays.

Who’s there?
Chewie.
Chewie, who?
Chewie your food so you don’t choke!
Oh, the jokes get better.
The Tech Dad
This past year during our 10 Days of Fandads on Facebook we gave away a Polaroid Cube to one lucky reader. I used this camera on my recent trip to Dad 2.0 in Washington D.C and took some fun shots there. The above picture I took during our night at the Smithsonian and as you can see, the camera has an amazing wide angle lens that gives you some pretty cool looking pictures. Oh, yeah, did I mention that it takes 1080P video? Yep, this camera is a cool little addition to your father’s collection camera arsenal. Just start imagining all the fun shots that you can take together.
My neighborhood has a lot of trees, so most mornings I wake up to some unpleasant surprises on my car thanks to the local birds. Other than shaking my fist at them and cursing them out I can use Karcher’s 1800 PSI K3 Follow Me Pressure Washer to clean all that crap from my car. If you have a dad that has similar problems or just like to pressure wash stuff around the house: sidewalks, outdoor furniture, their dirty kids, maybe this is the gift he will love this year. We will have a full review on this product later this month.
Knock, Knock.
Who’s there?
Luke.
Luke, who?
Luke at me when I am talking to you!
The Giving Dad
If you follow our blog you know that I am a huge supporter of helping out others. Recently with the Chicago Dads Group and the City Dads Group we raised money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. It was a fun day selling lemonade and raising money for this fantastic foundation.
The National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN) works to meet the basic needs of all American children and families. So what does that mean and how can you help? The NDBN helps to store and distribute diapers to struggling families throughout the country. With your help in donations or even offering up your reward points from Huggies brand diapers you can ensure that children everywhere have what they need to remain clean, dry and healthy.
This year I am running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and I am doing it as a St. Jude Hero for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. If you would like to help me reach my goal and help out a great cause I would greatly appreciate it.
Knock, knock.
Who’s there?
Do.
Do, who?
Do or do not, there is no trying to open this door.
The In-Style Dad
We have been affiliates with Cufflink.com for years and their wares just keep getting better. Recently they unveiled a Force Awakens collection that includes ties, money clips and socks. Click on the images for more information or to purchase the items.
If your dad is like me, I like to rock some cool socks in my daily wear. These First Order Stormtrooper socks are pretty comfortable and would go with any outfit.
If your dad is keen to the Dark Side of the Force this Star Wars I am your Father gift set would be a great gift.
Knock, knock.
Who’s there?
Wampa.
Wampa, who?
Wampa have a snowball fight?
