Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Comes Home. #RogueOne

Disclaimer: The Fandads were provided with a copy of Rogue One:A Star Wars Story for this review. All thoughts and opinions are our own.

As I sat down and started watching Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, I had to stop it half way through the movie. It was not that I did not like the movie. The reason that I did that is because I knew what was going to happen to these characters and I just wanted to have more time with them before the movie was over. (If you have not seen this movie yet, STOP READING NOW! There will be spoilers ahead, so you have been warned.)

Rogue One, if you haven’t heard by now, is the story of a group of Rebels that steal the plans of the Death Star in order to save the Rebellion. This entire movie was just a few sentences in the opening crawl of Star Wars: A New Hope, and thanks to an idea that John Knoll had we have this fantastic movie that shows us how the plans were stolen.
The movie tells the story of Jyn Erso, played by Felicity Jones, and how her father, Galen Erso, was a scientist for the Empire and aided in creating the Death Star.
During the movie Jyn teams up with Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna, his reprogrammed Imperial Droid, K-2SO, a defected Pilot and two members of the Guardian of the Whills. Although this group has nothing in common when they first meet-up, together they unite to save the galaxy. Maybe I’m being a little dramatic with that last sentence, but their cause is a just one.
While this is a story told in the Star Wars Universe, it is also a story about a father protecting his daughter. The sacrifice that Galen makes for the safety of his daughter is a universal one for parents and one that gives this story a little more depth than it just being a straight action film.
We could go on and on about Rogue One, but it is now available to purchase as Blu-ray/DVD combos at your local retailer. You can now bring this incredible story home and experience their adventure over and over.
Not only will you get to rewatch this fantastic movie, but you’ll be treated to a lot of special features and extras that will hold you over until the next Star Wars movie is released.
The Blu-ray comes with some great extras, but I wish that some of them were longer. A Rogue Idea is one of the extra features that I wish was a little bit longer because I like hearing about how a movie goes from idea to big screen. It would have been great if we saw more behind the scenes stuff.
Here is the listing of the special features on the movie. Depending on which retailer you buy your copy there might be more extras added to your copy of Rogue One.
