It’s that time of year again where we put together some of our favorite items that we feel will make some great gifts for those on your list this holiday season. One thing we are doing differently this year is splitting the list into two parts and are adding some new categories that will help in spreading the holiday cheer. So let’s begin!
For the movie fan
There have been a lot of great movies that have come out this year and your home collection will be incomplete with these movies.
Ant-Man and The Wasp
If you have not seen Solo, ask your secret Santa to get you a copy. This movie did not get the support it should have gotten, but it is such a fun movie. The movie was a great insight into what makes Han tick and it was great to see how relationships that we all know and love began. Let’s see if they change their mind and make a sequel to this movie.
For The Video Gamer in Your Family
PlayStation VR
Over the summer we were fortunate enough to try out the PlayStation VR system and while it might not be for everyone it is something that should be experienced at least once. Two of the games that we played that I would recommend are Astro Bot and Tetris Effect. Both games take full of advantage of the VR with Astro Bot having you look around corners and using your head, literally, to fight off some of the enemies. Tetris Effect had a great soundtrack that will have you dancing as you play the game.
Jackbox Party Pack 5
Party games are always great to have! These games will make any party a fun time and especially if you start playing the Jackbox Party Pack 5. If you have played any of the Jack games before you know what you are in for, The Jackbox Party Pack 5 is a collection of five hilarious games that allow up to eight players (and 10,000 audience members) to join by simply using the web browser on their smartphone, tablet, or laptop – no app needed! The pack contains a variety of different games that might ask you to draw weird doodles, write the best inside joke, or answer hilarious trivia questions as you enjoy hours of laughs. Games also include filters to make them family-friendly for all ages!
Pool Panic
Pool Panic is a whacky, unconventional billiards video game that puts players in the role of a cue ball in a colorful cartoon world. Explore jungles, deserts, carnivals, cities and more while knocking around a peculiar cast of billiard balls through over 100 levels. Offering a single-player campaign and multiplayer for up to four people, Pool Panic is the world’s most unrealistic pool simulator!
NBA 2K Playgrounds
NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 is the next great arcade-action sports game, an over-the-top, two-on-two basketball experience that complements the best-selling NBA 2K franchise. Starring Hall of Famer Julius “Dr. J” Erving, NBA Champion Kevin Garnett, NBA All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns, and emerging Celtics star Jayson Tatum on the cover, NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 steps up the energy and attitude with new players, playgrounds and moves. NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 features over 300 players– including legendary new additions like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and features multiple ways to play on your own, with friends, or against the world.
Charities
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
While the holidays are a time for giving we should also try to give to those that can use our help. If you have been following Fandads you know that we do a lot with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. When we are not running to raise money as a St. Jude Hero, we try to help raise money by promoting great items that help out with the cause. If you have a coffee lover in your family, get them a selection of great coffees from Hope Products. When you buy from Hope Products, 50% of the sales will go to St. Jude.
CURE (Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy)
We have written about our son’s bout with epilepsy and this past November we teamed up with CURE and Fairgrounds Coffee to help promote the #mugsforadelaide campaign to raise awareness for Epilepsy. As the new year begins, we will continue trying to raise awareness and keep updating our son’s progress. If you would like to help to find a cure you can help by donating anything you can by clicking here.
