Who Says You Can’t Make New Friends!

June 8th is National Best Friend Day and what better way to spend it than by making new friends. The new friend we are going to make is called Forky and he is from the latest Toy Story movie. In Toy Story 4 Bonnie creates her new friend in school and when she brings him home, that is when the fun begins. Thanks to our friends at Pixar and Disney we receive our own Forky, we just have to build him first.

The box we received had everything that we need to make our own Forky: Spork, googly eyes, a popsicle stick, tac, pipe cleaners, and blue and red wikki stix. There are only 6 steps to create our new friend, but I know my children will have hours of fun once they finish making him. I think I will buy some extra pipe cleaners and wikki stix to create more than one Forky, I know we have some different sporks in a drawer in our house. What could go wrong with an army of Forkys?

On June 8th reach out to your best friends and say hello or get together for a meal or drink. As we get older it is always great to reminisce with those we grew up with and those we call our friends. As parents, we should instill in our children the importance of having great friends. Not only having friends that will make you laugh but having friends that will support you in everything that you do. We all could use friends like Woody and Buzz that will do anything for you. Those are the friendships that last a lifetime.

Toy Story 4 comes out in theaters on June 21st. We will have more on the movie as we get closer to the release date.

Woody (voice of Tom Hanks) has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. So, when Bonnie’s beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky (voice of Tony Hale), declares himself as “trash” and not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy. But when Bonnie takes the whole gang on her family’s road trip excursion, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep (voice of Annie Potts). After years of being on her own, Bo’s adventurous spirit and life on the road belie her delicate porcelain exterior. As Woody and Bo realize they’re worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, they soon come to find that’s the least of their worries.
