I remember the first time I saw that “Weird Al” Yankovic was going to be in a movie I was excited. This guy who made parody songs was going to be in a movie and it was going to be as weird and silly as he was. UHF was not only weird but I think not many people got it at the time. I don’t think it did well in theaters. I thought the movie was funny and so many moments and lines stayed in my mind. To this day whenever I see a store with the word “City” in it I start saying “Spatula City! Spatula City! Spatula City!”
UHF is that cult classic that you can’t stop quoting and telling your friends about. Rewatching this I forgot about all the silliness and charm of the movie. “Weird Al” is just fantastic in this and I would have loved to see a follow-up to this movie.
