Today, Chicago’s original Comic Con FAN EXPO Chicago announced new guests joining this year’s show, including THE MANDALORIAN and BREAKING BAD star Giancarlo Esposito, and HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL cast members Corbin Bleu and Lucas Grabeel. The 52nd edition of the longest-running comic and pop culture expo in the Midwest runs August 16-18, 2024 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont. Giancarlo Esposito, best known for his roles as Gus Fring on BREAKING BAD and BETTER CALL SAUL, Moff Gideon on THE MANDALORIAN, and Stan Edgar on THE BOYS, began his acting career on stage before his role in HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET earned widespread acclaim. Audiences will see him on the big screen next in 2025’s CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD.
Corbin Bleu gained notice with roles in feature films including SOLDIER, MYSTERY MEN, and GALAXY QUEST. His first lead role, in 2004’s CATCH THAT KID, came in his freshman year of college. That summer, he became part of the ensemble cast of the Discovery Kids TV program FLIGHT 29 DOWN, and in 2005 he joined the cast of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, which became an international phenomenon.
Lucas Grabeel burst onto the global stage as Ryan Evans in the HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL phenomenon, before taking roles in hit TV shows including VERONICA MARS and SMALLVILLE. His voice can be heard in shows including FAMILY GUY, ROBOT CHICKEN, THE CLEVELAND SHOW, DREAMWORKS’ DRAGONS, and MY ADVENTURES WITH SUPERMAN.
Esposito, Bleu, and Grabeel join an impressive roster of celebrity guests at FAN EXPO Chicago 2024, including the first-ever joint appearance by STAR WARS legends Mark Hamill and Hayden Christensen; with fellow STAR WARS universe stars Eman Esfandi, Rosario Dawson, Temuera Morrison, Diana Lee Inosanto, Alan Tudyk, Joonas Suotamo, and Gina Carano.
