FAN EXPO Chicago Recap

Friends, I have been going to FAN EXPO Chicago since its first iteration as the Chicago ComicCon. I remember going with my best friend and how our dads would take turns each year taking us. As the name changed to Wizard World and eventually FAN EXPO Chicago, I have attempted to attend as many days as possible. This year the Fandads were able to attend Saturday and Sunday and both days were like night and day!

On Saturday I attended with my entire family and it felt like everyone in the world decided to do the same thing. Saturday was very packed and it was close to impossible to walk through some of the aisles. We were told that FAN EXPO Chicago was expecting to have 75,000 visitors over the weekend but it felt like they were all there on Saturday. As we navigated through the busy show floor we were able to talk to Stephanie Williams who has written for DC and Marvel. Even though we had submitted a list of interview requests we were only able to speak to one guest on our list: Diana Lee Inosanto. Diana was a pleasure to talk to and we could have talked to her for an hour if we could.

Attending panels is always a fun thing to do and this year we attended the Charlie Cox panel and the Rosario Dawson panel. It is always great to relax for a while and listen to behind-the-scenes stories from these amazing actors. It’s also pretty interesting to see how the actors expertly dodge certain questions and try not to give out any spoilers of the stuff they are working on.

As stated earlier, we talked to a good amount of the creators that were on the floor and we also talked to the voice of Wolverine for the animated show, Cal Dodd. I almost died when we took a photo and he said “Make sure you get pretty boy in the picture!”

All of these interviews can be found on our Instagram and social media pages: TikTok and YouTube.

FAN EXPO Chicago is always a great time for myself and my family. I can not wait until next year and if I learned anything this year, I need a better mic when doing interviews.

See you next year!
