Fashion Outlets of Chicago today announced it will welcome THE GUNDAM BASE CHICAGO, the first official GUNPLA store operated by Bandai Namco Amusement America under license from Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America. Opening Friday, Dec. 12, the store will be located on Level One of the shopping center next to Timberland.

The Chicago brick-and-mortar location will cater to new and longtime fans, offering special activations and opportunities to showcase building and playing with GUNPLA.

Beginning with the launch of the Mobile Suit Gundam anime series in Japan in 1979, the Gundam Franchise features a wide variety of complicated themes unseen in mecha anime of its time. Recently celebrating its 45th anniversary, the Gundam Franchise has grown to an iconic global phenomenon, with its GUNPLA (Gundam Plastic Models) continuing to grow in popularity.

Fashion Outlets of Chicago is the Midwest’s only two-level indoor shopping experience, offering more than 130 outlets ranging from the world’s top designer brands to family favorites.
