Last September, my son and I were able to experience the opening of EXP Rosemont. The experience was so amazing that we told all our friends about it. Now, a new experience has been added for families to check out!
Infinity Experiences is taking audiences on an epic new adventure at EXP Rosemont with the launch of The Last Stronghold. The immersive medieval experience transports guests to the legendary fortified city of Carcassonne in Southern France at the dawn of the 14th century. Visitors can train for battle, patrol towering ramparts under the stars and explore a city bustling with history—all through free-roaming virtual reality and stunning historical detail.
Produced by Excurio in collaboration with the Centre des monuments nationaux, The Last Strongholdfeatures Carcassonne as it stood in 1304 with breathtaking historical accuracy. Developed using cutting-edge historical research and architectural expertise, the experience captures the fortified city at the height of its power. Making its U.S. debut at EXP Rosemont, The Last Strongholdjoins the globally celebrated VR expeditions Horizon of Khufuand Life Chronicles, expanding the venue’s lineup of culturally rich, large-scale immersive experiences. All three experiences are available for a limited time, concluding their runs on April 5.

“The Last Strongholdexemplifies our mission to bring bold, culturally significant immersive works to new audiences,” said Eric Albert, CEO of Infinity Experiences. “With three extraordinary expeditions under one roof, EXP Rosemont continues to establish itself as a premier destination for unique and unforgettable entertainment.”
Similar to EXP’s other VR expeditions, The Last Strongholdis a free-roaming, 45-minute virtual reality experience designed for guests ages 8+ (children ages 8–12 must be accompanied by an adult).
Horizon of Khufuinvites visitors to journey through a historically accurate depiction of Egypt’s 4,500-year-old architectural masterpiece, the Great Pyramid of Khufu. Guests explore restricted chambers, ascend to the pyramid’s summit and sail along the Nile during King Khufu’s funerary
rites. Produced by Excurio and developed in collaboration with Harvard’s Peter Der Manuelian and the Giza Project, the experience has sold more than 1.5 million tickets worldwide and was hailed by Forbesas “an art form evoking genuine emotion and empathy.”

Life Chronicles, produced by Excurio and France’s Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle, takes guests on a family-friendly journey through 3.5 billion years of evolution, from the earliest microbes to the rise of humanity. Visitors encounter towering prehistoric forests, giant marine reptiles, and dinosaurs, culminating in a present-day African savanna where giraffes and zebras roam freely. The expedition culminates in a vivid, fully realized journey through time that leaves guests with a deeper appreciation for the planet’s extraordinary natural history.
Timed-entry tickets for each experience start at $27 with dynamic pricing. Guests are invited to enjoy multiple experiences within the same visit with the flexibility to embark on different journeys or share the same immersive expedition side-by-side. Specially priced ticket packages are available for families, students and seniors. A VIP ticket package is also available and includes priority access, a personalized badge and branded tote bag.
