I remember seeing The Exorcist when I was a little boy. I saw most of the movie with my hands over my ears and my eyes closed. Just hearing Regan’s demonic voice scared the crap out of me and I remember I would see her face everywhere after that movie ended. That movie really scared me.
When I was older I revisited the movie and realized that it was not that scary at all. Although the entire premise about a child being possessed does freak me out, the movie was more psychologically scary than anything, but if you tell that to my wife she won’t believe you.
I have tried watching that movie with my wife and it just does not happen. She is a fan of horror movies, but this is one movie that she can not watch. I remember one time she was helping me get my record collection in order and freaked out because one of the records had a close-up picture of Regan.
