Earlier this year I did the Spartan Race for the first time. The only real training I had before the run was my cardio. I would run as much I could during the days and just the week before the race I ran a 5K with my wife, but that was not enough.
My cardio was fine throughout the run. I did not get winded while running but I did have a few problems with some of the physical obstacles. I realized that I need to work on my upper body strength for the next time I run this race.
I remember when I talked to my pal (yeah, I wish) Lou Ferrigno at the Wizard World press meet and greet I asked him about his workout routine and he told me that you have to commit to something that you want to do. Well, I decided that I am going to commit to building my upper body strength this year and be better prepared for next year, but I’m going to need some motivation.
If you feel like starting to work out and getting ripped, then there is no better motivational movie than “Pumping Iron”. Now, I’m not trying to get huge like Arnold, but it would be fascinating to see how he developed the body. Have you ever seen “Pumping Iron”?, If not, here is a little bit of information about the movie.
Check out the trailer below.
