LEGO has been a big part of my life since I was a little boy. One of my favorite LEGO sets was the Police Rescue Boat that my parents got me one year. I would play with that boat wherever there was water.
I stopped collecting LEGOs for a while, but started up again once they started making Star Wars sets. I loved the fact that I could create my favorite scenes and vehicles and then create something entirely new once I finished building one of my sets. That’s the great thing about these sets: They let your build whatever your imagination wants to make.
While I love all the new sets that are out at the stores, I really love how LEGO uses technology to bring something new to their toy sets. LEGO Nexo Knights is a pretty cool series that uses an app to expand the gameplay of their characters and combine it all on their TV series. Talk about the imagination that went into creating these sets.
The Fandads were sent an Axl figure and here is what we thought of it:
Here is the official word from LEGO about the Nexo Knights:
A new intellectual property for 2016, LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS bridges both digital and physical play with building sets, a TV series on Cartoon Network, and digital gaming app each fuel one another through story-rich game play. Depicting a medieval kingdom set in a futuristic world, the story follows 5 knights who “download” special powers to their shields in order to battle the royal court’s evil Jestro and a cast of monsters to restore peace. Fans can scan and collect powers found in building sets, online, and directly from the TV series with the free Merlock 2.0 App (available on iOS and Android).
Remember friends, the LEGO Nexo Knights sets are in stores now and season 2 of the series start on August 13th on Cartoon Network.
