Time to get scared at home with Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

When I was a child, I read the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark series and regretted reading them at night because I could not sleep. As much as I loved reading these stories, they were scary as hell and the covers of the books made them that more scary to read.

When I was a teacher I bought the set for my classroom and read “Harold” to my class on Halloween. You would think that after X amount of years I would read that story like nothing, but it still gave me chills.

I never thought that these stories would make their way on to the big screen but Guillermo del Toro has turned our nightmares into reality with the release of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. I can not wait to see this when it is released on Digital since I was never able to see it in theaters. I like the fact that I can watch it during the day and maybe it will not be as scary as watching it in the dark.

Here’s what to expect for the home release:

Get ready to be absolutely terrified when Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark arrives on Digital October 22 and on 4K Ultra HD™ Combo Pack (plus Blu-ray and Digital), Blu-ray Combo Pack (plus DVD and Digital), DVD, and On Demand November 5 from global content leader Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B). The highly anticipated film adaptation of the iconic book series brings the thrills and chills of some of Alvin Schwartz’s scariest stories to life.

It’s 1968 in America. Change is blowing in the wind…but seemingly far removed from the unrest in the cities is the small town of Mill Valley, where for generations the shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large. It is in their mansion on the edge of town that Sarah, a young girl with horrible secrets, turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories, written in a book that has transcended time. For a group of teenagers who discover Sarah’s terrifying home, the stories become all too real in this spine-tingling film.
