Squeeze checking out the game!

We have been lucky to attend the Chicago Dogs games since 2019. While we have been invited to games we also attend games of our own volition. We have gone to Superhero games, Star Wars Games, and have attended a few Sunday games where we get to play catch on the field before the game starts. Going to Chicago Dogs games has become our summer tradition.

The Dogs games are always a lot of fun and you get a great deal going to these games as opposed to the major league teams our city offers. As I stated earlier, we try to go to as many games as we can during the season and have become fans of this team. This last game we went to was a lot of fun and exciting until the very last out.

Elvis singing the National Anthem

The Saturday game we attended was not only a firework night but it was also Elvis night. Granted that the Elvis movie was released recently it was a happy coincidence that this night was an Elvis night. Elvis sang the National Anthem at the beginning of the game and also came out again to sing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” at the 7th-inning stretch. It was pretty cool when Elvis was singing the National Anthem because we were seated right behind him and appeared on the jumbo screen for the beginning of the song.

The Dogs played the Milwaukee Milkmen this night and the game was pretty exciting. The Dogs took the lead early on in the game and it seemed that they had this game won. Little did we know that the 9th inning was going to be a doozy. The Milkmen loaded the bases and with 1 strike away from ending the game, the Milkmen hit a grand slam to go up by two points. The cheers in that stadium stopped as that ball flew out and did not come back.

The Dogs were able to tie up the game in the bottom of the 9th and had the opportunity to win. Sadly, the runners were left on the field as the final strike ended the inning. The way the Milkmen played in the final innings we feared they may go on another scoring run like before but our pitching was able to hold them down. When the Dogs came up to bat they were able to not only get runners on the bases but get the scoring run to win the game. The sound was deafening when that final hit cleared the field and allowed our player to run home for the win!

As soon as the game ended the fireworks began. Since it was Elvis night, the Elvis songs played as the fireworks lit up the night sky. It was a fantastic game. The win and the fireworks were just the icings on the cake as the night came to a close.

If you are looking for a fun and affordable time at the ballpark with your family I highly recommend attending a Chicago Dogs game. Tickets start as low as $9 and every seat is a good seat at Impact Field. Not only do you get to watch a baseball game, but there are fun activities for your kids to do. Check out their schedule and see if there is a theme night coming up that draws your attention.
