The Fandads are always looking for ways to extend the events we cover. Since we started covering film festivals, we have been eyeing some festivals in other parts of the United States. We have tried Sundance a few times, and that did not happen. I have seen people I know cover the South by Southwest Film Festival, and I decided to apply and see what happens. I was so used to getting denied for these things that I was surprised that I was approved to cover this event.

Will I be able to go?

Getting approved for the SXSW Film Festival was a great feeling, but then reality hit that it might not be possible. I tried looking at ways to make this happen financially, but ultimately decided not to go. Maybe I can cover it virtually and next year attend. So that is what I am doing! While I will not be able to attend the premieres, red carpet events, and activations, I feel that doing it from home would be a good test run for when I can go in person.

What will I cover?

Luckily, I have been getting emails about movies that are playing at the festival. I have requested links for some of these, and we will see what happens. The following is a list of the movies I planned on seeing and will try to have reactions for you.
