As a Spider-Man fan, I am alwyas excited about the movies that come out. I know that I am going to see my favorite Marvel character on the screen and will see a good story on screen. After the success of Into the Spider-Verse, we could feel the beginning or hints of a possible live action Spider-Verse movie. After Peter said “The Multiverse is real!” in Far From Home the rumblings began and the rumors started flying.
With Spider-Man: No Way Home we have the culmination of what Sony started 20 years ago with Spider-Man. We get to see all 3 actors who portrayed Spider-Man on the big screen and it is beautiful. This was not a cash grab opportunity for Sony and Marvel, although the movie did break records worldwide, it was done in a way that respected not only the audience but also the franchises that came before.
Each Peter Parker fills us in on what has been going on in their lives and share their experience with Tom Holland’s Peter. Whereas the multi-verse Peters never realy had a role model to guide them into their role as Spider-Man, unless you can count Uncle Ben’s famous words, Peter 1 is given insight on what could happen if he follows the dark path he is thinking of following. The movie uses all the actors in fantastic ways and lets them play their part perfectly.
With the release of the home version you can relive all of your favorite moments at home. As much as I loved all of the extras, I was a little upset that the deleted scenes that were previously advertised were not included on the disc. There may be a reason as to why this is but we will have to wait and see what Sony & Marvel decide to do with those scenes.
Final Thoughts: If you are a Spider-Man fan you will love this movie. A lot of great laughs and call backs to the original series. This is the best Spider-Man movie ever made!
Kid-Friendly: While the Green Goblin might be a little too scary for younger children, I do admit he creeps me out a little, there is nothing in this movie that they have not already seen in other Marvel movies. There is a death in the movie that might be upsetting for some younger fans.
Violence: Most of the fights in this movie are similar to the fights in other Marvel movies. Sci-Fi violence, if you will.
For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.
