Eating Good with The Bob’s Burgers Movie

Bob’s Burger has been around for 13 seasons and they just made their leap to the big screen. As a newcomer to the show I did not know what to expect. Friends, after watching the movie I wanted more and I have 13 seasons of shows to watch now! So this review will be short because I have some catching up to do!

The Bob’s Burgers Movie follows the Belchers as they plan to reveal a new burger for their restaurant. It seems they are struggling with paying their loan and hope their new burger will help the restaurant. Well, with any good intentioned plan someting has to come along and throw a wrench into their plan and that is what happens here. A huge sinkhole opens up right in front of the restaurant which puts a big dent into Bob’s plan. This sinkhole is preventing them from making sales and meeting their loan payments to the bank. This is one story of the movie.

(L-R): Tina Belcher (voiced Dan Mintz), Darryl (voiced by Aziz Ansari), Regular-Sized Rudy (voiced by Brian Huskey), Gene Belcher (voiced by Eugene Mirman), and Louise Belcher (voiced by Kristen Schaal) in 20th Century Studios’ THE BOB’S BURGERS MOVIE. Another story in the movie is what is found inside the sinkhole. Louise is tired of being taunted at school for wearing her ears and decides she will prove herself by going into the sinkhole at night. While being filmed by Gene, she falls in and descovers a body. This causes the repair of the sinkhole to be delayed because the sinkhole has become a police investigation area. Seeing the body causes Louise to recruit Gene and Tina to help her find out who murdered the carvinal worker, Cotton Candy Dan, and why.

These two stories take the Belchers on an adventure throughout their town and Wonder Wharf. Along the way we are introduced to multiple characters and made to guess which ones might be the killer. The Belchers get into foot chases, go-kart chases and more in solving the mystery of who killed Cotton Candy Dan.

Final Thoughts: The movie is a great extension of the show and has catchy songs that will stay with you after the movie. Fans of the show you will enjoy the movie.

Kid-Friendly: If your family is a fan of the show you already know what to expect. The humor is bizarre and the characters are a lot of fun.

Violence: There is no physical violence in the movie but there is talk of the killing of a carnival worker.

I like the episode where the cops take over the burger shop as a police negotiation headquarters while there is a hostage negotiation down the street.
