Being a huge Star Wars fan, I was excited when Hasbro asked us to help out in celebrating May 4th by reviewing a few Angry Birds Star Wars games. While I might get a lot of flack for this, I’ve never played the Angry Birds games. I have heard about how addicting they were, but I just was never tempted to try them. Once the Star Wars versions came out my interest piqued a little. Nevertheless, I still didn’t pick them up. If you’re still reading after I dropped that bombshell, thank you for sticking with me and you will be rewarded at the end of this post when I tell you how you can enter to win one of the two games shown above (sorry, the foam flyer, like a gremlin, is only for people who are truly able to handle it).
The Millennium Falcon Bounce Game ($19.99 SRP) is made for players ages 8 & up. Obviously, I’m old enough to play it, but my little girl is only 3 and a half. I thought to myself, “She should have no problem with this.” and I was pretty much right. The game is pretty simple: you set up the Millennium Falcon with the enemy pigs, then bounce three balls at the pigs and score points knocking them down. If one of the balls goes into the cockpit you get extra points.
Assembling the game board is pretty simple, no more than five minutes, but if you have a little girl who asks a million questions while you’re working, expect assembly time to be multiplied by 5. As we were playing the game my little girl was having fun just throwing the balls at the pigs. We put the rules aside and just played the game our own way. The game is a lot of fun and the only negative I came away with is that you have to remove the base from the plastic Millennium Falcon in order to put the game back in the box. I know it’s minor, but it would make playing the game the next time faster if it was already built.
The AT-AT Attack Battle Game ($39.99 SRP) is made for players ages 5 & up. The game is basically a real life version of the Angry Birds game. The cool thing about this level is that it is in the shape of an AT-AT. Players must set up the 21 blocks to create the AT-AT and then launch the birds from the lightsaber launcher to destroy the AT-AT. Having little kids that like to destroy things, this game is perfect to play. I mean, who doesn’t like throwing things at a small structure and watching it fall apart?
Again this game was a lot of fun to play. Although you have to make sure you play the game on a level surface. My little girl and I were playing on the carpet, trying not to make too much noise so we don’t wake up the little one, and the pieces kept falling down every now and then. My little girl was getting frustrated when she tried to put the set together on her own. She kept knocking it down when she accidentally would hit one of the blocks that would cause the entire structure to crumble. My advice for this game it to have steady hands and play on a solid and smooth surface.
Ok, if you have read this far you either like my writing or just skimmed down to read about the giveaway. Yes, giveaway! Hasbro is going to give one of our lucky readers one of the two Angry Birds Star Wars games we wrote about: Star Wars Millennium Falcon Bounce Game or the Star Wars AT-AT Attack Battle Game. What do you have to do to win? Just follow the Rafflecopter prompts and the winner will be announced on May 9th.
As always, thanks for reading and May the 4th be with you!

My kids are the experts on angry birds. The Imperial Star destroyer seems like a goog level. I would like the The Millennium Falcon Bounce Game .

Nice review…I really don't know enough about Star Wars to suggest a location (sorry!) and I'd pick the bounce game because my son is close to your daughter's age and it seems like he would be able to play that one a little better…he LOVES the angry birds lol he's always asking for the "bird show". I'm all like they didn't get that far baby, it's a game.

Hey E.P., make sure you write out which level you want to see and which game you would like to win.

Thanks for the comment Kim, that would make a cool level. The Death Star Jenga game is a cool game, but unfortunately it is not one of the games we are giving away. You can choose between the Bounce Attack Game or the AT-AT game. Again, thanks for commenting.

Ha, May the fourth….I get it! No seriously, I got it. I've been tempted to buy these for the kids, of course, and seeing as there is ease of assembly it equals less frustration on my 3,5 and 11 year old. SWEET review.
