The Legend of Vox Machina Brings it!

Okay, let me start by saying that I was not a fan of Critical Role in the beginning. Now, before you take out your axes and swords ready to attack me, let me explain. I’ve seen Critical Role at conventions. I’ve seen the lineup for their panels, their signings, but I missed the Critical Role train.

I did not watch their videos or anything like that, so I didn’t really know who they were. But I knew they were big due to the number of people I would see either dressed as characters from their shows, or the lines for their signings and their panels. I knew they were a big thing. Since I missed the train, it was one of those things where I just was like, well, I missed it and I’m not going to jump on now but I do respect them for having this big following.

So now let me let you know how I am trying to get on the train. The Critical Role train. I’ve been lucky enough to watch the first six episodes of the legend Vox Machina and is amazing from the writing to the animation and the storylines. This is a show that has made me a fan and has made me want to know more about who Critical Role is and what they do.

Now let me get to the show. Number one, it’s not for kids and obviously, if you’re a fan of them, you already know that due to the language, the nudity, and violence. Yeah, you shouldn’t be watching this with your five-year-olds. The show tells the tale of this group of, I guess you could say, misfits who are in some way banded together and go on adventures. Judging from the first episode, they have just finished a mission and are celebrating at the bar. I will only talk about the first three episodes now because they will be released every Friday. So we’ll break them down as the season goes by.

As someone who is unfamilar with the characers, I will say i was drawn to the dynamics between the twins, Vex and Vax. I liked how they would watch out for one another and how Vax seemed like the natural leader of the group. Percy was another character that I wondered about. As the series progressed I see what his story is and he’s become one of my favorite characters. The gun that he uses is pretty awesome and….we’ll I can’t say something that happens with it later on.

I will say that I have become a fan of Vox Machina and I can not wait to see the rest of the season and what comes next.
