As a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, going behind the scenes in the life of Saquon Barkley is fascinating. Barkley shows us that in this documentary why he is one of the best running backs in the game right now. Through the use of video diaries and NFL footage, we become flies on the wall for five years in Saquon Barkley s life.

The documentary does a great job of showing us footage of Saquon when he was younger playing football in high school and college. Even back then, family members and coaches knew he was something special. While this is a great look into his football career, what sets this documentary apart is seeing the man that Saquon is. The viewer gets many instances that showcase this througout the documentary.
When playing with the New York Giants, we see how being picked second in the draft made Saquon feel like he had to prove himself. He was having a great season but unfortunately the team was not doing that great. During a game with the Chicago Bears he tears his ACL and meniscus and is out for seven months. In the time frame the audience sees how he fells like he let down the team and does his best to rehab and come back stronger.
In 2022, Saquon in nearing the end of his contract. When other players miss training camp or make announcements online about their grievances with their team, Saquon stays quiet and does not bring attention to himself. We see his frustration as he tries to do everything correctly, but in his mind he knows that he needs to get more for what he brings to the team. The frustration also comes out when he is franchised tagged by the Giants and can not talk to other teams to get a better contract.

During his rehabilitation we see moments of Saquon being a father and doing fatherly things like, having tea parties with his daughter. These are the personal moments where we see why Saquon works so hard. He wants to make sure that his family is taken care of. The connection he has with is daughter is beautiful to see and he is a proud girl dad. Hearing his daughter sing the Philadelphia Eagles fight song is one of my highlights of the documentary.
The documentary culminates with Barkley going to the Philadelphia Eagles and the incredible season they had. Saquon shows us how working hard, doing the right thing, can sometimes be rewarding and we see that in the life of this player. From brand endorsements to the cover of Madden 2026, Saquon Barkley has gone through the ringer to finally get his moment to shine.
